Many clinicians continue to face difficult dilemmas in their efforts to bridge the gap between the health care needs and the lacking entitlements of their undocumented patients, calling for scholarly and policy debates on how to address this gap. The seminar is timely given the number of Ukrainian refugees being received currently by Norway, some of which may need medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in these issues, you don\u2019t want to miss our next IMER online seminar! Please register your attendance <a href=\"https:\/\/skjemaker.app.uib.no\/view.php?id=12424285\">here<\/a> to enable us to effectively accommodate this arrangement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this seminar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uib.no\/en\/persons\/Elisabeth.Marie.Str%C3%B8mme#uib-tabs-research\">Elisabeth Marie Str\u00f8mme <\/a>will share her experiences from providing health care to undocumented migrants over several years as a volunteer for Health Centre for Undocumented Migrants in Bergen and through Centre for Migration Health in Bergen municipality. Her talk comes at the backdrop of a <a href=\"https:\/\/stortinget.no\/no\/Saker-og-publikasjoner\/Saker\/Sak\/?p=87661=.\">new proposal<\/a> on access to health care for undocumented migrants in Norway which is currently being evaluated by the Standing Committee on Health and Care Services in the Norwegian Parliament. Her presentation will address the following key questions: (1) What are the current challenges and the future perspectives of securing access to health care for undocumented migrants in Norway (2) What are the most pressing knowledge gaps according to a clinician and how can research in the area fill these gaps?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uib.no\/sites\/w3.uib.no\/files\/styles\/user_thumbnail\/public\/pictures\/picture-12229-1614000361.jpg?itok=IXjbbjJY\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Elisabeth Marie Str\u00f8mme is a family doctor and researcher at Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care.
